Did you notice that bay blur that won a maiden race early on Woodbine Oaks day, July 20?Sunday's Well, making his second career start for owner Paul O'Brien and trainer Terry Brooker, zoomed to a nine-length victory in the six-furlong optional claiming race ($40,00), speeding the distance in 1:09.22 for an 89 Beyer Speed Figure according to Daily Racing Form.The 89 Beyer was the second highest Beyer recorded by a maiden winner the week of July 14-21 in North America.Sunday's Well is a 3-year-old son of Ontario sire Gamble's Exchnage, who stands at Ballycroy Bloodstock in Loretto and from the winning mare Mrs. Monty. The gelding was bred by Frank DiGuilio Jr. and John Carey and bought back as a yearling for $11,000 from the 2023 CTHS Ontario yearling sale."he's a neat little horse," said Brooker, who trains at Amplify Stable near Loretto. "He was set to run last year but we gave him some time."Paul O'Brien, who raced graded stakes winner Mona Rose about 20 years ago, had not started a horse since 2019 before Sunday's Well came along.
