The road to the Woodbine Oaks and King's Plate later this summer begins this weekend with the $125,000 Fury Stakes and $125,000 Queenston Stakes.

Saturday's Fury at seven furlongs has a field of five with SHIFTY a top contender based on her big win in an allowance race on May 11.Shifty won the Catch a Glimpse Stakes last year for owner D J Stable and trainer Mark Casse. Trainer Rachel Halden will be hoping that her pupil ARISTELLA will be able to run the favourite down. Aristella won the prestigious Princess Elizabeth Stakes last fall.

On Sunday, June 8, the boys take their first step to the Plate in the Queenston, also at seven furlongs. Mark Dodson's NOTORIOUS GANGSTER, X-Men racing and Canuck Racing Club's DEWOLF and Al and Bill Ulwelling's MANSETTI are the main contenders.

Speaking of Plate contenders, TOM'S MAGIC, an Ontario bred son of Justify, is entered in the Pennine Ridge Stakes (G3) at Saratoga on Belmont Stakes day, June 7. Owned by CJ Thoroughbreds and Mo Speed Racing, Tom's Magic was bred by Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry and trainer Michael Stidham says the Plate is a main goal for the half brother to Woodbine Oaks winner Dixie Moon.

Also on Belmont Stakes day, Canada's Champion 2-year-old of 2022, MY BOY PRINCE goes for Grade 1 glory.

Gary Barber's scrappy grey gelding has post position 4 in the $500,000 Jaipur Stakes at  5 1/2 furlong on the turf, race 9 on the spectacular card of racing. My Boy Prince, bred by Murray Smith, comes off a big win in the Elusive Quality Stakes at Aqueduct on May 3.
