Congratulations to This Week’s Stakes Champions at Woodbine
The weekend of September 13-14, 2025 served up some outstanding performances at Woodbine Racetrack. The connections of the following horses deserve hearty congratulations for their stakes victories. Proud to recognize these champions on behalf of the HBPA.
September 13, 2025
1. Notable Speech (GB)

Race: Rogers Woodbine Mile (G1T)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby
Owner / Breeder: Godolphin (UK)
Jockey: William Buick
Details: Notable Speech rallied strongly in this Grade 1 turf mile event to capture the prestigious Rogers Woodbine Mile, part of the Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” series.
2. Corsia Veloce

Notes: Simcoe worked hard early, took the lead, and held on for a 1¾-length victory.

4. Souper Diva
Race: Victorian Queen Stakes (Ontario-sired 2-year-old fillies)

Breeder: Northern Dawn Stables Inc.
Details: Continuing her strong form, the Ontario-bred filly sprinted to a clear victory in the Victorian Queen, showing maturity and consistent speed.
5. Silver Is Best
Race: Bull Page Stakes ($100,000, 2-year-old colts and geldings, Ontario-sired)
Trainer: Bill Tharrenos
