The Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association of Ontario would like to congratulate board member Kevin Attard on reaching an incredible milestone—900 career training victories.
Attard recorded the landmark win on March 12 at Gulfstream Park when Murabeh captured a one-mile turf race. The victory marked the 900th of Attard’s career and another major achievement for one of Canada’s leading trainers.Â
A longtime fixture on the backstretch at Woodbine Racetrack, Attard has built a reputation as one of the most consistent and respected horsemen in the sport. His barn has produced numerous stakes winners and champions over the years, highlighted by top performers such as Moira and Starship Jubilee, and his stable continues to compete at the highest level in North America.
In 2025, Attard was recognized for his outstanding season when he captured his first Sovereign Award as Canada’s Outstanding Trainer, a well-deserved honour following years of success and dedication to the sport.Â
Beyond his accomplishments on the racetrack, Attard has also been an important voice for horsepeople in Ontario. As a member of the HBPA Ontario Board of Directors, he has helped represent the interests of owners and trainers while working to strengthen the racing industry in the province.
Reaching 900 wins is a testament not only to Attard’s skill as a trainer, but also to the hard work of the many owners, grooms, exercise riders, and staff members who have been part of his team throughout his career.
On behalf of the HBPA Ontario, we congratulate Kevin on this outstanding milestone and look forward to celebrating many more successes ahead.
