HBPA/WEG CONTRACT

The Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association of Ontario

(HBPA) and Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) have been in consultation on several issues and importantly regarding the renewal of our agreement.

While we had hoped that a new contract would have been finalized before the end of the 2024 racing season, we are still at an impasse. Please be assured we remain steadfast on maintaining the same number of race days and are adamant that an increase to purses is essential.

We will keep you apprised and will continue as always, to act and protect the interests of our owners, trainers, and backstretch workers.
