The Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association of Ontario proudly congratulates the connections of Oujda (FR) on a brilliant performance in Saturday’s Sweet Briar Too Stakes (6 furlongs, turf, Grade unspecified) at Woodbine.

Under Rafael Hernandez, the 5‑year‑old French mare raced just off the pace early before launching a strong rally on the rail to overtake the field and win convincingly by 1¼ lengths over Ready to Jam. Ticker Tape Home finished a half‑length back in third. The final time was a sharp 1:07.98 on firm turf—just over a second shy of the Woodbine track record  .

Trained by William Walden for Woodford Thoroughbreds LLC, the Sioux Nation–La Conseillante filly made her North American debut a memorable one. A former Group 3 winner in France, she continues to impress with her class and sprinting prowess.

On behalf of all Ontario horsepeople, HBPA Ontario celebrates this impressive win by Oujda (FR) and applauds the team behind her performance. She displayed poise, confidence, and undeniable talent in her first outing on Canadian soil.

Congratulations to Oujda (FR), jockey Rafael Hernandez, trainer William Walden, and owners Woodford Thoroughbreds LLC — here’s to many more milestones ahead!
