The 2025 Ontario Sired Heritage Series launched in exciting fashion on Sunday at Woodbine with a pair of $100,000 five-furlong turf stakes: the Georgian Bay for fillies and the Lake Huron for colts and geldings.

Rhaenyra, trained by Kevin Attard and owned by Al and Bill Ulwelling, delivered a dominant gate-to-wire victory in the Georgian Bay Stakes. After a slight bobble at the break, the filly quickly found her rhythm under jockey Pietro Moran and never looked back, drawing away to win by three lengths in a time of :56.82. It marked her first stakes and turf victory.

In the Lake Huron Stakes, Go Kart Mozart, trained by Hall of Famer Bob Tiller and owned by Frank Di Giulio Jr., showed grit and speed in a front-running performance under jockey Sofia Vives. After dueling early, the colt dug in late to win by a half-length in :56.92, extending his 2025 win streak to three straight.

These victories showcase the strength of Ontario’s breeding and racing programs, and we are proud to celebrate their success.

Congratulations to all the winning connections from HBPA Ontario!
