Congratulations to the Puss n Boots Cup winner!
Hiatus, owned by Jeff Voyce, Herb McGirr Jr. and Greg Athoe and trained by Voyce, led from start to finish through 1 1/16 miles on turf to win the popular race by two lengths.

Ridden by Ismael Mosqueira, Hiatus was the 3 to 2 favourite for the race named in honour of the famous horse who left the track during the running of the 1961 Vandal Stakes and jumped in the infield lake. Since the stakes race's inception, the tradition is that the winning connections of the Puss n Boots Cup also jump in the pond.
Mosqueira and Voyce both went for a dip after the winner's circle festivities.

Voyce claimed Hiatus for $5,000 in 2021 and he has won a remarkable 12 races with the 7-year-old son of Silent Name (Jpn). Hiatus was the Fort Erie Distance Horse of the Year in 2024.
