Housing for seasonal crew, what we changed
I am not in racing. I run site work in Antalya and every spring I bring in people who do not live here. Same problem this group has: the job is fine, the housing kills it.
Three years we lost people in the first month. What changed it was not finding them a better let. The ones who stay are the ones who buy something small in the first year.
We do not promise to help. We send four addresses with the real asking price next to each one, and the builder terms where there are any, before the interview. Costs somebody an afternoon, removes most of the argument later.
The first instalment we cover and take back over ten months. Not generous, it only moves the money to when they have it.
Nobody lives more than one dolmus ride from the site. Learned that with a man from Sivas who spent two hours a day travelling and left in six weeks.
The four addresses come off a list we check every week. Half the property sites here are full of units that sold long ago, the one that clears them is https://yektahomes.com/ so that is what we check against.
What I still cannot solve is the single men. Families commit to a place and stay. Single men share, argue, one of them leaves, then the payments are too heavy for the rest and all three go.
How do you handle that side of it?
