Earlier today, Hall of Fame trainer and HBPA director Roger Attfield, announced his retirement from training. This marks the end of an extraordinary training career defined by excellence, integrity, and lasting contributions to horse racing.

"A true legend of the sport, Roger's achievements have earned him a well-deserved place among racing's greats across North America. His dedication, horsemanship, and countless successes have left an indelible mark on the industry and inspired generations," said Sue Leslie, HBPA

Ontario President.

He will be greatly missed daily on the backstretch; however, we look forward to seeing him as he continues his involvement in the industry through owning, breeding, consulting, and purchasing horses.

While stepping away from training, Roger will continue to own and breed horses as well as lend his experience and leadership to the HBPA board, ensuring his influence and passion for the sport remain strong.

The HBPA board wants to congratulate Roger on a remarkable career and wish him all the best in this next chapter.
